Set up Cohere
Cohere turns the physician's audio into text through its speech-to-text API — a high-quality transcription option for DirectScribe. Pick it in Settings and paste your Cohere key.

Create your API key
Create a Cohere account
Go to dashboard.cohere.com and sign up.
Open the API Keys page
In the Cohere dashboard, open API Keys from the sidebar.
Create a key
Create a new API key (a production key for ongoing clinical use). Copy the key value and keep it somewhere safe.
Paste it into DirectScribe
In DirectScribe, open Settings → Providers → Transcription, choose Cohere, and paste the key. It is saved to your macOS Keychain.

Before sending any patient-derived audio, confirm directly with Cohere what data-processing or Business Associate terms are available for your account, and whether they meet your practice's privacy assessment. Terms and pricing change — check the current details with Cohere.
